Cookies are small text files that websites visited by users send to their devices, where they are stored and then retransmitted to these websites on subsequent visits. In general, they can be installed:

    This cookie is set to identify the first session of a new user. It stores a true/false value, which indicates whether it was the first time Hotjar saw this user. It is used by logging filters to identify new user sessions.

    Purpose: Hotjar cookie that is set when the customer first lands on a page with the Hotjar script. It is used to persist the Hotjar User ID, unique to that site on the browser. This ensures that behaviour in subsequent visits to the same site will be attributed to the same user ID.
